What is BrightFutures?

BrightFutures (BF) is an events programme run by Minerva which has an emphasis on social and professional development.

The events are predominantly geared either towards those in the first few years of their career or those looking to progress to the next level. This being said, the topics covered in the events often have a broad appeal so everyone is welcome to come.

The idea

It’s a tough world. Meeting new people, building new skills and networking isn’t easy for young professionals. If you want any of the above but don’t enjoy the traditional corporate networking events or don’t normally get the chance, then BrightFutures is ideal. Minerva provides an opportunity to offer learning and networking opportunities in a friendly, open and relaxed environment.

The events

Each event is different but will as a rule be:

• Held in the early evening to allow those who work to attend
• Showcasing top keynote speakers or specialists, some drawn from the Network itself, others experts in their field
• Focussed on relevant and transferrable skills and knowledge bases
• In a beautiful venue – OK so it’s not the most important thing, but if you are going to an event after a long day, you want to know it will be enjoyable in every way
• A warm, friendly and encouraging environment – our events are renowned for how positive and welcoming the environment is. Even if you normally feel shy on these occasions, the atmosphere at a BrightFutures event should put you a ease so you can really get the most out of the evening
• Affordable – we don’t aim to make a profit, only to cover costs, so we can keep the events within reach of everyone, whatever your budget
