Work Experience
Are you looking for work experience during the holidays but are unsure where to start or can’t break into the industry that interests you? Why not see if the Nertwork can help?
We have helped students find work experience through Minerva, working in many different industries and all over the UK. All you have to do is complete the simple work experience application form and return it to us with a copy of your CV. We will then search our membership and contact members we think may be able to help. Suitable contacts will then liaise with you directly to discuss potential opportunities.

TOP TIPS:
· Detailed information! When completing the application make sure you give as much information as possible about your availability and also you want to work in that industry and what makes you suitable.
· Timing! Give us as much time as possible to source a contact for you. People book up work commitments months in advance and some industries are very competitive so make sure you get in there early. We would recommend giving us at least two month’s notice (but ideally considerably more).
· Attention to detail! We will send a copy of your CV to members we approach on your behalf. Make sure you include all your grades and qualifications, as well as anticipated results if known. Thoroughly check your CV for typos and errors, and get someone independent to check it for you too in particular paying attention to your contact details.
· Be concise! Employers don’t have much time to read a CV. Avoid long blocks of text and making statements about yourself unless they can be backed up and evidenced by experience, qualifications or skills. Unless you have years of experience your CV should not be longer than 2 pages.
