Blackheath High School old girls Jo and Ruth Tongue are busy pounding the local streets as they take on the challenge of running the London Marathon together on April 26th in aid of the MS Trust.

“We are running for the charity MS Trust. Our aunt was diagnosed with MS a few years ago and none of us realised how quickly life would change for her. She is now in a wheelchair and her whole house has had to be adapted for her to carry on living there. MS Trust can help people like our aunt to stay in their homes and try to continue life as normally as possible with specialised care. We owe them a great deal.”

Jo, is a seasoned-pro, this being her third marathon and is giving first-timer Ruth plenty of training tips. In return nutritionist Ruth is advising her on what to eat (and what not to eat!) in the run up to race day.

The sisters having been training since January 1st and ever true to their names only too much chattering is slowing them down right now!
